Dungeons and Dragons Campaign 2: Session 3 (Gnoll Raiders!)

- Fitz inspects Clarice’s clothing (much to the confusion of the rest of the group) - worn, not out of place
- Fitz takes Clarice’s dress —> changeling disguises as Clarice & puts on her dress (yes, Fitz is a changeling, the rest of us forgot about that too)
- REST! —> long rest
- Yue meditates on the deck of the ship to keep watch while the others sleep below (Eladrin don’t actually sleep)
- the ship floats listlessly (during and after the rest)
- NO EXTRA TILLER [my inner history nerd is VERY surprised at this]
- we DO find exploration stuff (like supplies)
- 6 cannons (on the ship) (200 lbs each)
- Fitz puts his (her?) cloak on and comes up to the deck
- Gnasc picks up cannon and 7 cannon balls and carries it around
- we are drifting SE
- Attempt to raise/direct sails —> Sharah successfully directs Gnasc through the task
- current plan —> go to island, get ship repaired, learn how to sail
- see Horizon!
- coast
- shore —> Wadi Halfa (not island….)
- pull up longboat - disguise and mark w/ cannon ball
- 2 days traveling
- on the 3rd day —> other signs of Gnolls
- 4th day: 2 gnolls watching us
- 5th day when awake 3 gnolls on edge of camp
- gnolls of faction that was NOT involved in Gnasc’s back-story
- they ask why we are in this territory
- gnoll is shooting Fitz weird look (Fitz still looks like a Halfling woman)
- Gnasc talks to gnolls and tells them we are just passing through, they give us the go ahead but warn us not to wander any further into their land
- Gnasc pulls Fitz aside while travelling that day and asks about the watch he (Gnasc) found on Clarice.  He asks Fitz not to tell anyone.  The watch is from the future (Sharah and Yue’s original time) but Fitz doesn’t recognize it.
- we head to the bridge —> approach
- there are Teiflings, dragonborn, and 3 Devas
- Sharah greets the Devas —> they seem warm and friendly but one seems to have a BAD headache
- they are heading to the island because there is a Deva mind healer on it.  Ever since one month ago, many (all?) Devas have been experiencing dissonance with their former lives.  This has caused much pain! Their former lives seem not to exist anymore!  The only solution at this point is to get all the past lives erased by this healer.  Sharah is shocked that anyone would even contemplate erasing their past lives but the Devas are set on this course of action.
- continuing to the bridge we come across 3 Teifling and 2 Halfling Slavers with 2 Gnoll slaves.  They also have a cart with them.  Gnasc is disgusted with the slavers.  (and we haven’t had a battle in a while) So we attack them!
- BATTLE  we begin the battle attempting to do only subdual damage.  One of the teiflings (the first) lets out a loud yell when he is knocked out.  Another Teifling emerges from the cart.
- Halflings can go INVISIBLE —> this leads to invisible blood splatter (when Fitz attacks them when they are invisible)
- Sharah accidentally kills one of them so we stop with the Subdual damage!  [this is hilarious because Sharah was the one who pushed for subdual damage in the first place]
- Gnasc does the most damage
- when most of them are dead and the ones we knock out before are unconscious Yue goes around to kill the unconscious ones.
- One of the Slavers killed one of the gnoll slaves
- the other gnoll slave is alive  —> we heal him
- and “interrogate” him
- Gnasc gives him food (he is from the NW tribe - he looks similar to the ones we saw earlier) and we send him back to his clan
- Gnasc tells him to tell his clan that Gnasc is back in town (also, he is grateful)
- we arrange the bodies to appear like the dead gnoll did most of the damage and set up our cover story of “GNOLLS RAIDED OUR MERCHANT CARAVAN” (there is normal merchant stuff in the cart)
- we cross the bridge and take a long rest.
- Yue meditates for 4 hours and uses the other 4 to check out the Tomes that are in the cart.
