The introduction of a new character. And why being nice to people you want favours from is a good idea.
- come to quaint town (seemingly unaffected by wars)
- following Telgron (on buffalo) to pick up his apprentice (Fitz-Maurice) [Warren's new character] [no one could get his name right at the beginning... actually no one can get his name right most of the time, not even him. I forget how this name came about. Fitz's player isn't one for making up names really]
- Telgron - not from this Tiiiiiiiime! --> can travel time/dimensions through own power
- found orphan Fitz-Maurice --> raised in idyllic town
- through town to quaint hut (boar outside)
- still mourning Warren
- Telgron gives us boar gear - "riding boar-back is difficult"
- we hear big crack --> see Devil fighting Astral Traveller (Devil getting owned)
- Telgron jumps in and pushes Devil over & starts fighting Astral Traveller [did he have a name OH WAIT no one remembers]
- portal opens behind them and Telgron pushed AT through but AT grabs his arm and pulls Telgron through and the portal closes
- Devil warns us to get all components needed b/c they can't hold him off very long and *poof* disappears
- we decide to sleep till morning --> leave at first light
- [somewhere in here, I think when Telgron went to get the boar gear, Telgron left us alone to explain to his apprentice what was going on and who we are. It was weird and full of disbelief - Don't blame Fitz for not believing.]
- 1/2 day to get to swamp --> SHACK (complete w/ old crooked man - glazed looked --> crazy)
- Following Fitz [to get there]
- Uriel intimidates old man and he takes us to his boat [never intimidate someone you need to guide you somewhere]
- landscape seems depressed --> large shadows in water
- at crossroads [in the water] we go right
- RAZORGRASS!! --> island in the middle of grass --> he poles away [and this is why you don't intimidate someone. they may leave you on a small island in the middle of a field of razorgrass with no way off]
- Bird --> flute --> flies eastwardly [Yue attempted to charm animals with music]
- Bear - explore --> nothing but mice [nothing but razorgrass for the entire range of Sharah's bear]
- cut down grass --> Sharah (b/c chain mail) --> animals flee eastern --> grass all faces east
- STUMPED [we had the hardest time with this puzzle... we aren't puzzle people in general but this one DM had to give us MAJOR hints before we got anywhere]
- Fitz wades into grass --> ground seems more solid --> grass parts [Fitz is a man of action]
- Sharah runs in and falls [she has a tendency of doing that doesn't she]
- Uriel is lazy and summons disc to carry his stuff
- quickly loose sense of direction (follow grass) [the grass only parts in certain ways]
- come to another island --> mound w/ bones in front & critters sitting in front
- magic emanating from cave --> critters upped int.
- Hydra Queen inside --> says we are not worthy
- approach cave --> steep decline --> slimy disgustingness (sewer) --> goop 1 foot deep (squelchy)
- fork (1 dry land (left) 1 cont. goopy) [pretty sure we chose the dry one] faint drip of water fades
- come upon a clearing --> dead end --> empty --> swampy closed behind
- new opening --> murky water 20ft. deep --> spear disappears in water [and I'm pretty sure that's how Sharah lost her longspear - by using it as a measuring pole]
- new opening -->w/ gloop --> passage ends in gloop EVERYWHERE
- entrance closes behind us [DM apparently likes changing environments]
- creepy omnidirectional hydra queen voice
- AFTER BATTLE [we beat up the hydra queen]
- sounds like cave is falling apart
- got heart (slice it in half) [this was an accident. Sharah was removing it but I had better stats so I tried. But my dice HATE me (well only my d20s) and I messed it up]
- Devil shows up (seems recovered) --> teleports us out
- back near old man's house --> not back yet
- Devil shows us golden tree root --> if confront Pythion can go forward (Devil can only go back in time)
- we find out at this point that Fitz is not from this time
-heart sliced in two - may affect spell
- ingredients float and start rotating --> BIG FLASH of light
- [at this point I was excited because I had finished the pages in the notebook I was writing in (which I had been using for many things for quite some time) and I got to get a new one that I would use only for DnD!]
