- resupply [adventurers kits]
- long rest until dusk (we decided to steal the ship at dusk)
- meet at Brown Bar (the seedy bar where Sharah and Gnasc met our Nautical companions)
- in the harbour there are 6 Ships + the Magic Ferry (which is a giant floating circle)
- we decide on the Pleasure Yacht (fastest and the right size for our party)
- decide to “Johnny Depp it” —> lure the guards off the ship and then steal it
- Sharah summons her bear to distract the guards (it wanders around attempting to lure them off the ship) (comedic moment when it pretends to maul Gnasc to get the guards off the ship) but it doesn’t work
- BATTLE of ship stealing
- Highlights include:
- Fitz pulling one of the dragonborn over the edge (though he didn’t die)
- a Brain in a jar that could Dominate people - DEAD by Gnasc’s claws [like almost everything else we ever fight]
- the captain eventually entering the fray (Human Woman)
- only one guard and the captain alive
- Yue intimidating [don’t ask how a small, young eladrin bard is intimidating (I figure it is an unworldly aloofness) but she is VERY intimidating] the Captain
- Captain stays with us in exchange for letting the guard go
- Ship out
- long rest —> Gnasc claims the master cabin (and steals a bunch of the stuff in it - gold bars), Sharah and Fitz sleep in hammocks, Yue meditates on deck with Nazca (Human captain) beside her, Crom and NoEyes handle the ship
- in the night, Yue hears a strange buzzing and sees red and green flashing lights in the sky - AIRPLANE!!! - heading from North to South
- navigate up the coast
- Sharah relieves Crom, Yue relieves NoEyes (after this we take shifts)
- Gnasc harasses Nazca and we find out that she is Nazca Barsavi —> head of the Barsavi Crime clan (basically head of the mafia), also she wears glasses
- we stop harassing her that this point
- Nazca looks over log from the Mary Celeste (explain to her that where we are going will either have treasure OR open up trade routes for her to pillage again)
- on the 3rd day out of port (they were past Nikopole already) the Mary Celeste was attacked by metal “dragons” <— AIRPLANES!!! (Yue tells the rest of the group about them)
- NoEyes teaches Sharah how to use the astrolabe —> Sharah interested in all things Nautical —> questioning Crom and NoEyes
